Abstract/Contents:Discusses the use of soluble nitrogen sources on turfgrass. Nitrogen is the "nutrient element required in greatest quantity by warm-season turfgrasses. Turfgrass managers often prefer to use soluble N sources on turfgrasses due to their relatively low cost, their rapid response, and with some sources, soil acidifying effect." A study was done to determine the effectiveness of controlled-release nitrogen as compared to slow-release forms of nitrogen. Gives details and results of the study, which found controlled-release nitrogen to be effective on turfgrass.
