| Abstract/Contents: | Several reseeding methods were tested and compared as to their ability to establish dicot turf in dense, older populations. Two mixtures were sown by hand, while others were sown using a strip sowing method. The mixtures that were sown by hand did not show much success, but those that were sown by hand and with machines were much more successful in establishment. Strip sowing proved to be very successful also, as long as it is carefully maintained, in order to cut down the competition between older turf and newer turf. Lists resources available that have additional information on reseeding. Varieties used in the mixture were; Poa pratensis, Festuca rubra commutata, Festuca rubra trichophylla, Festuca rubra rubra, and Agrostis capillaris. Compares the results of both reseeding techniques. |
