Abstract/Contents:"In pot experiments meadow fescue was grown for 2 yr on sandy, loess or peaty soil given 0, 1, 2 or 4 g N/pot as 15N-labelled ammonium nitrate, with or without added P, K and Mg, or as raw cattle or pig slurry or as separated slurry liquids or solids. DM yields and rates of N use were related to soil, N rate, form of N in slurry and slurry C:N ratios and mineral contents. N use rate varied considerably. In general, plants used 50% of mineral N and took up 30-40% of liquid slurry N and 18 and 32% of cattle and pig solid slurry N, resp."
