Abstract/Contents:Karla Cuculi, editor, predicts that the landscape maintenance market will continue to grow based on the study results reported by the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute citing that 17% of respondents are somewhat likely to stop mowing their lawns and start using a lawn mowing service during the next five years. Reasons for using a lawn mowing service include: (1) Not be physically able to mow lawn, (2) Rather spend time doing something else, (3) Don't enjoy mowing lawn, (4) Takes too long to mow lawn, and (5) Getting too old. Cuculi continues on to give some suggestions on how to win over the two distinct residential groups: the aging population and the dual-income families with little time for household chores. Suggestions include direct mailing and distribution of flyers as ways of advertising your business.
