Abstract/Contents: | "Throughout the southern United States, golf courses, sports turfs, and some home lawns are overseeded annually with cool-season turfgrasses during winter months." Overseed trials have been conducted under golf course fairway and putting green conditions at Gainesville over the past 10 years. "The purpose of these studies was to evaluate the suitability of selected cool-season turfgrass species, cultivars, mixtures, and/or blends for overseeding purposes in Florida. Summarized in table 1 is a listing of those cool-season grasses- out of a total of 156- that provided best turf quality in our tests from 1991-1996." |
