Abstract/Contents:"Striving for more profit and the elusive full year of work are the reasons many lawn maintenance companies go full service and diversify." Explains the different requirements needed in order to be a full-service maintenance company, and how computer programming can play an important role in whether a company makes a profit at the end of the day or loses money. Gives suggestions on purchasing computer software, such as basic functions to consider like job costing, routing/scheduling, bidding/estimating, billing/invoicing, payroll and more. Includes questions to ask when purchasing software, such as: (1) Can the software account for a number of different tasks, (2) Will the job-costing module track the new business, or are changes needed, (3) How does diversification change the service agreement for the software in your business, and more.
