John Collyer EBA eastern region advisor plans to raise the edges of the green to remove undulations and maintain an even surface. He plans to spread abot two bags of topdressing along the edges and drag it in. Once the seed germinates he plans to apply fertiliser to encourage root growth. Steve Braddock groundsman at Arsenal Football Club draws some conclusions about Fortiva grass seed mixture. On the good side divot repair and seed germination are quick and results are good. Wear tolerance has not been pleasing, it is only about the same as conventional grasses. He also talks about his underground heating system and servicing his irrigation system. Philip Baldock head greenkeeper at Royal Potrush Golf Club Co. Antrim, discusses plans to build new maintenance facilities in three phases consisting of a new soil barn, new staff block with shower area, and a larger workshop for the mechanic. Gary Lewis head groundsman for the Salford Rugby League Club discusses his planting grass seeds and waiting on it to germinate, also describes the winter routines he carries out.
