Abstract/Contents:When looking to expand his lawn, Steve Nelson discovered that he had the remnants of a long-forgotten golf course. Nelson came across the golf course while clearing away the tall grass and discovered a teeing ground. Nelson and brother-in-law Terry Larson carried out an archeological search and uncovered Tokeland Golf Links, in operation from 1910-36. Nelson and his wife Kathleen started by operating 4 holes of the course, with the other 5 holes located on property owned by Nelson's sister. Many historical items were found in uncovering the old course, including a golf club from the 1920s and a couple large Japanese floats, pulled out of the bay.
