| Abstract/Contents: | 'Elf' was developed by R. H. Bailey Seed and Jenks Seed Connection. "Elf was selected from half-sib progenies of nine clones. Of the selected half-sib progenies, approximately 83% trace to plants selected from old turfs in Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania during the period from 1962 to 1978...Elf is a moderately low-growing, turf-type perennial ryegrass of medium reproductive maturity. It is capable of producing an attractive, persistent, dark green turf of medium-high density, medium-fine texture, and improved mowing quality." Recommends the usage of Elf. |
