Abstract/Contents:Discusses the bluegrass species Poa supina Schad., a high-altitude turfgrass commonly found in the Alps, and the research done on it to determine its; water usage, drought tolerance, rooting pattern, and shade tolerance. Poa supina Schad. was compared to various turfgrass species, and was found to be especially tolerant of shade, but did not fare well in comparison to other species concerning drought and drought recuperation. "The results demonstrate that Poa supina is an ideal turfgrass species for shady, regularly irrigated locations."
