Abstract/Contents:Discusses the importance of maintaining a flexible and manageable irrigation system when treating hydrozones on the golf course. A hydrozone is defined as "a portion of the landscape area having plants with similar water needs that are served by a valve or set of valves with the same schedule." Examines the importance of sprinkler heads in controlling the flexibility of the irrigation system. Also discusses some aspects of irrigation system design, focusing on an approach that may give rise to increased flexibility.
