Abstract/Contents:Discusses the interactions that occur between trees and turfgrasses when both are grown on the same plot of land. The shade provided by trees can be harmful to turfgrasses; turfgrasses grown under trees must therefore be maintained in order to maximize the stress resistance of the grass. Care should also be taken to ensure that turfgrass management practices such as weeding and mowing do not cause damage to trees. Risk assessment for trees that may fall is also discussed.
