Abstract/Contents: | Atmospheric SO2 as well as SO4 ions in precipitation contributed towards the S requirement of arable crops in the German Federal Republic, which amounted to 20-50 kg/ha annum. Pot trials with ryegrass and cocksfoot showed that atmospheric SO2 (concn not determined) did not meet crop requirements. It was concluded that in the absence of other S inputs, crops with high S requirements may suffer from S deficiency. |
