| Abstract/Contents: | 'Savannah' bermudagrass was developed by Pure Seed Testing, Inc., of Hubbard, OR, and released in March 1996. The first seed was produced in 1997. "Savannah bermudagrass was developed specifically for turf uses. It is dark-green, low-growing cultivar that forms a dense, aggressively spreading sod of high turf quality at mowing heights of 1.5 to 4.0 cm. Savannah has exhibited good early spring green-up in North Carolina. Savannah is well-suited for lawns, sports fields, and golf course tees, fairways, and roughs in areas where bermudagrass is well-adapted." |
