Abstract/Contents: | "Fungicides were evaluated on a bentgrass putting green with a history of yellow patch at the Orchards Golf Course in Lawrence, KS. A single fungicide application was made on 6 Nov 95 just as symptoms of yellow patch were developing. Fungicides were applied in 4.5 gal water/1000 ft² at 30 psi with 8003 flat fan nozzles using a CO² backpack sprayer. Plots were not watered after fungicide application. Individual plots were 5 x 6 ft and replicated 4 times in a randomized complete-block design. Plots were rated on 14 Mar 96 for percentage plot area damaged by yellow patch. The fall of 95 was very mild and dry. Yellow patch severity at the time of fungicide applications was minimal. Winter conditions following fungicide applications were relatively cold and extremely dry. Nevertheless, a moderate amount of yellow patch was present in early March. All fungicide applications significantly reduced yellow patch severity. No phytotoxicity was noted on any of the fungicide-treated plots." |
