Abstract/Contents: | The use of turfgrass in nursery aisles to suppress weeds, modify soil temperature by mulching, and improve load-bearing characteristics and fertility of soil is discussed. Suitable cultivars of perennial ryegrass [Lolium perenne] are listed and sowing rates and dates are tabulated for 8 grasses. Advice is given on turfgrass selection, establishment and mowing. |
