| Abstract/Contents: | "Fourteen treatments were applied 28 Jul for control of second generation ABW at the Rutland Country Club, Rutland, VT. The target life stage was adults and young larvae. Plots were 3.5 x 6 ft separated by a 1 ft buffer. Sprays were applied with a CO₂ boom sprayer, 8004 nozzles, at 40 PSI, in 2 gal water per 1000 ft². Granules were applied with a salt shaker. Plots were rated 22 Aug by removing 3 (0.1 ft²) plugs per plot and counting live larvae and pupae in the laboratory. Counts were converted to larvae per ft². Conditions at the time of treatment were: air temperature 79.2°F; wind, calm; sky, haze; soil temperature 77.1^DDF; thatch depth, 0.5 inch; soil pH, 5.4; slope, 2%; soil texture, sandy loam, sand 67%, silt 30%, clay 3%; soil moisture, 24.9%; post treatment precipitation, 0.2 inch, daily irrigation. All treatments provided good control at this low population level. No phytotoxicity was observed." |
