Abstract/Contents:Discusses how compost works best on crops. "Compost adds slow release nutrients, helps prevent erosion and leaching of nutrients and can suppress some plant diseases...Visible results usually show up when grass becomes stressed, which means that composted areas may not be obvious in spring when everything is emerging. But when mid to late summer heat begins, the difference should be clear." These results are from the comparative trials with compost in Texas and Florida turf growth and crop yields.
