Abstract/Contents:Established in the 1870's, Saint Louis Zoo today still hosts more than 2.7 million annual visitors and is one of the only three major U. S. zoos that has free admission." Because the zoo is so large and experiences such extreme ranges in temperature, constant ground maintaince can be difficult. Using pond aerators helps keep areas free of ice and controls pollution.
