These boxes are to be used as alternatives to snags, and must be made or bought with the type and size of the birds in mind, because each species has different requirements. Recommends placing nest boxes close to the rough, or using them as markers. Lists various tips for creating successful nest boxes and gives specific directions for creating next boxes for purple martins, as well as listing specifications for nest boxes for 13 common species. |
