Abstract/Contents:An experiment was carried out on mature turf (containing mainly Lolium perenne, Agrostis castellana and Phleum pratense) cut at 20 mm, from 1979 to 1983, to assess the performance of isobutylidene diurea (IBDU, as Floranid and Isodur) as a source of N, in comparison with a standard treatment of ammonium sulphate. IBDU gave good overall performance when given in 2 applications, 14 weeks apart, at N rates of 126 and 189 kg ha-1 year-1. Late summer applications of IDBU resulted in better growth in the following spring.
