| Abstract/Contents: | Research was conducted to determine the margin of safety and suitability of DowElanco broadleaf herbicides for use on improved buffalograss. The study was conducted on a 4-year-old stand of '609' buffalograss located at Mead, Nebraska. Data were collected on phytotoxicity 2, 4, 8, and 16 weeks after treatment (WAT). Phytotoxicity was visually rated on a scale of 1-9, with a 9 indicating the most phytotoxicity. Treatments and results are listed in Table 1. Results indicate that the products tested, even at label rse rates, caused significant discoloration of '609' buffalograss. Although the discoloration for some treatments was short-lived 92-4 weeks), their use would not be recommended on '609' buffalograss at this time. |
