Abstract/Contents: | Discusses control methods for Canada geese on Ohio golf courses. There are around 70,000 breeding pairs of Canada geese in Ohio alone, and although people like them, they are a nuisance on the golf course, leaving droppings containing Poa annua and making cleanup a nightmare for golf course crews. Lists various options for controlling geese, including: shooting them, scaring them with "bird scaring tape", and egg shaking. Also discusses golf course design factors that may deter geese. |
