Abstract/Contents: | Although these wastes show chemical diversity, they are generally characterized by: a low content of the main nutrients; very low cation exchange capacity; high content of total and mobile trace elements; low content of soluble salts; very low content of the (0.02 mm fraction. Good grass establishment was obtained by covering the wastes with a layer of soil, but the minimum depth of this layer necessary ranged from 2 to 10 cm between the investigated sites. Of the grasses tested Lolium perenne showed most promise. |
