Abstract/Contents: | Analysis of resistance in a series of natural populations by means of the diallel cross revealed that heritability was high (58%), the genes showing complete but ambi-directional dominance for resistance. An environmental correlation was established between degree of infection and productivity but there was no genetic correlation. The implications of this mode of control for resistance breeding procedures are considered. |
