| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to evaluate creeping, colonial and dryland bentgrasses for quality under golf course fairway/tee conditions. Thirty plots were established in 1993 and visual quality ratings were recorded monthly. Disease incidence was also rated and recorded. The cultivars Cato, Providence, Pro/Cup and BAR WS42102 all demonstrated good tolerance to snow mold. Penn G-6, G-2, Cato and Providence maintained excellent quality during the stressful months of June, July and August. Providence, Pro/Cup and Penneagle have all outperformed Penncross and Cato has been at the top of the trial for the last few years. |
