Abstract/Contents: | Wild garlic [Allium vineale] is a serious weed in turf of schools, parks, golf courses and lawns in Arkansas from mid-autumn to early spring. In a follow-up to the study reported in WA 28, 2699, good initial control of A. vineale was obtained with 2,4-D at 1.5 kg/ha alone or in mixture with other phenoxy herbicides and with repeat applications of glyphosate at 2 or 3 kg/ha but new plants grew from hardshell bulblets. In general, mowing 1 week after spraying did not reduce the weed population. |
