| Abstract/Contents: | "In the spring of 1982 experiments were made, on two different sites, comprising altogether 64 different types of herbs. In each case 500 grains per square meter together with 4.0 g per square meter of a grass mixture were sown. The results obtained so for indicate the following: 1) The main germinating phase occured [occurred] during the first 30 days. After a period of 37 days, all of the different species of herbs had germinated with the exception of five species which had disappeard. 2) Of the total of 59 species of herbs which had germinated in the spring of 1982, 35 or 39 species respectively had survived until the autumn of 1984. 3) Most of the herbs are especially dominant in spring and in autumn. In summer, especially before dipping the turf for the first time," (...vor dem ersten Schnitt...=before clipping the turf for the first time) "the grasses predominate. 4) On the site, which is especially rich in nutrients (LVG) the clover species have extended so much, since the summer of 1983, that they cover the area nearly all the year round to 100 percent, showing even a tendency to cover even the neightbouring [neighboring] plots. However, on the sites which were poorer in nutrients (HD-Kirchheim) the clover had no chance to survive." |
