| Abstract/Contents: | Reports results of a survey conducted throughout the U.S. and parts of Canada in 1994, which asked for information about "existing backyard composting education programs." A total of 40 states and 2 Canadian provinces responded, stating that 59% of programs were from cities, villages or towns. 29% were from counties, and the remainder "were affiliated with special districts, nonprofits, consulting agencies or other organizations." Also includes specific information about the counties and municipalities where the programs are located, details about the educational programs themselves, and project barriers (problems) and suggestions. |
