Abstract/Contents: | The Coronilla varia cv. Penngift has proved most effective against soil erosion, particularly as a roadside cover plant. It requires no maintenance when once established and even when dormant (December-March) its mat of foliage protects the soil. It is normally planted with a straw mulch and a cover crop of annual ryegrass as protection during establishment. To control woody weed species, a dormant basal treatment with 2,4,5-T or Krenite (DPX-1180) has proved effective without causing permanent damage to crown vetch. |
