Abstract/Contents: | Trials on the use of a modified pontoon craft (the aquaseeder), a hovercraft and a helicopter to distribute Lolium multiflorum seed, with or without fertilizer, on large areas of exposed shoreline and mud flats are described. Vegetation was successfully established on inundation zones by all techniques. The feasibility of annual vegetation establishment following drawdown in order to provide wildlife habitats is discussed. |
