| Abstract/Contents: | Light and electron microscopy of enations from Lolium multiflorum and L. perenne revealed pathological changes centering in the phloem region of vascular bundles. Enlarged cells of the region contained virus-like particles c. 70 nm diam., morphologically indistinguishable from those of rough dwarf virus. The infected cells also contained viroplasms and tubules very similar to those induced by MRDV. The complex of virus-containing cells was surrounded by cells with tracheid-like wall structures. |
