Abstract/Contents:Discusses increasing the efficiency of use of pesticides in order to reduce environmental impact of insect control. Possibilities for increased efficiency include use of biological controls with reduced rates of insecticide; examining insecticide products in order to find the most efficient product for each situation; and careful identification of the pest, necessary equipment, and ideal application timings. The example of the mole cricket is used to illustrate the approach.
