Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the classification of turf species according to their maintenance requirements as an aid to choosing turfgrasses for roadside plantings. Classification by texture, height, sod formation, area of origin, method of plant spread, life cycle, ease of establishment and maintenance, root system characteristics, growth patterns and adaptation are discussed. Factors that affect the establishment of roadside grasses are outlined. |
