Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the problem of resistance to fungicides in turfgrass pathogens, using as an example the resistance of dollar spot (Sclerotinia homeocarpa) to three common systemic fungicides. Explains why pathogens develop resistance to systemic, but not contact, fungicides, and why the traditional method of rotating fungicides does not discourage resistance. More effective methods of delaying the development of resistance are outlined. |
