Abstract/Contents: | "The objective was to compare Eagle (myclobutanil, a triazole SBI fungicide) and a formulation of myclobutanil and mancozeb (RH 0611) in comparison to Daconil, Fore and Heritage for control of Rhizoctonia blight in bentgrass....Eagle did not provide good disease control in this trial for Rhizoctonia blight. A formulation of myclobutanil and mancozeb provided better control. Heritage (a nonregistered experimental in development by Zeneca) was excellent, as was Daconil Ultrex at 3.8 oz on a 14 day schedule. Both of these treatments provided the best sustained disease control, particularly evident after sprays were terminated. Fore and Curalan provided good control, but did not provide residual control after sprays were terminated. Fore + Eagle did not provide adequate control, and surprisingly, the higher rate of Fore in combination with Eagle, did not improve control and even had less control than the lower rate of Fore. The reason for this difference is not known. Daconil Ultrex, Fore+Curalan provided good control of dollar spot, improving turf quality ratings. Fore alone and Heritage did not control dollar spot." |
