| Abstract/Contents: | "The objective was to compare experimental formulations of Aliette (EXP 10704A) in combination with Aliette + Fore, previously shown to be an excellent treatement for Rhizoctonia blight and summer bentgrass delcine, and comparisons to Daconil, Dithane M-45, Chipco 26019 Flo and WDG (the latter an experimental formulation), and some experimental formulations from Rhone-Poulenc Ag Company....Generally, combinations of EXP 10704A (an experimental formulation of Aliette) and other fungicides indicated a positive response to the addition of the experimental. With mancozeb active ingredients, EXP 10704A performed as well as Aliette + Fore treatments. Comparisons of Aliette (commercial product) and EXP 10704A incidated that EXP10704A was better than the commercial product. Aliette + Fore Flo (with Chem-link) was a very good treatment in this trial. EXP 10704A and Chipco 26019 WDG (the latter an experimental formulation) was good. EXP 10704A and Dithane M-45 (mancozeb) was excellent and equivalent to Aliette + Fore). The primary disease control was attained by mancozeb-containing products in comparison to Aliette or experimental formulations of Aliette....For commercial products or single component mixtures, Chipco 26019 WDG (experimental) gave moderate control. Daconil Ultrex was very good, but not as efficacious as Aliette + Fore in this trial. The addition of Aliette was advantageous, indicated by the better control from Aliette + Fore compared to Fore Flo alone - indicated by residual control achieved after sprays were terminated in August...Experimental materials including EXP 1702A were good, Exp 10682A was medium and EXP 10682A was medium to mediocre in control of Rhizoctonia blight and summer bentgrass decline. Concerning turfgrass quality, the addition of Aliette or experimental formulations of Aliette was and [an] advantage in combination with Fore or Dithane M-45. The addition of #EXP10704A to 26019 Flo or Dithane M-45 was only a slight or no advantage. As single component treatments, Daconil Ultrex was equal to Fore Flo, but Daconil Ultrex has the advantage of control of dollar spot, whereas Fore Flo was mediocre for this purpose, at best." |
