Abstract/Contents:"[The objective of the study was] to evaluate currently available released and experimental varieties for turf. [Varieties were evaluated for cold damage.] The only acceptable turf scores occurred on 5/31/95 for 92-1223, 92-1224, and Jackpot....The varieties with turf scores consistently higher than Common were 92-1223, 92-1224, 92-1229, Jackpot, Oasis, and Yuma. Some of these scores were not much greater than that for Common. Eight varieties had significantly lower cold damage than Common but only Guymon had less than 50% damage. These results indicate that much improvement needs to be made in both turf traits and cold tolerance in the seeded bermudagrasses."
