| Abstract/Contents: | "[The objectives of the study were to] evaluate the turf type tall fescue cultivars under close mowing, extreme environmental stress and [disease] pressure found in the Piedmont region and determine those cultivars most suited for use by the Turfgrass Industry of South Carolina. Eleven tall fescue cultivars [were tested. The average of the 1995 and 1996 data] indicates that Shortstop was superior to Rebel Jr., Bonsai, Rebel/Tribute, FDM 91, Barnone and Chesapeake. There were no differences in brown patch severity in cultivars in the 1995 ratings. In 1996 FDM 91 was the only entry without Brown patch. Chesapeake, Rebel/Tribute and Barnone had most severe brown patch expression in 1996 ratings." |
