Abstract/Contents:"An autoradiographic method which enables the root density and pattern of interpenetrating root systems to be measured is described. An example of its use is given, in a study of the mutual effects of plants on the distribution of their root systems. It is suggested that such measurements may give information on the mechanism whereby root systems influence each other."
