| Abstract/Contents: | "Wildlife inventories at 81 Florida golf courses revealed nearly 200 species of birds, 40 mammals, 25 snakes, 20 butterflies, 40 reptiles...and too many insects to count!" There are many efforts being made by golf course owners to perserve and enhance the different habitats found on and around golf courses. Wildlife benefits from the many environments found on golf courses. The Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses is having every member fill out a Resource Inventory describing their property and existing wildlife. A easy way to keep a wildlife inventory is to get the golfers involved. Have them help document the wildlife they see while they are out golfing. Being worked on currently is a statewide wildlife inventory for Florida golf courses which will be published in the future. |
