Abstract/Contents:Describes the effects of dog urine on lawns and discusses methods of solving urine burns. The author stresses that pH has nothing to do with the extent of damage, rather it is the concentration of nitrogen that burns. Methods of solving the problem include: watering the place of urination within eight hours, buying smaller dogs, buying male dogs (which urinate more frequently but in smaller amounts), using a lower protein dog food, and training the dog to urinate in a specific location.
