Abstract/Contents:Discusses the need for a better understanding of sulfur effects on turfgrass. Suggests "more stringent air quality regulations are reducing the amount of atmospheric sulfur dioxide...As turf managers remove clippings from ever larger areas of their turf and more sand-based greens are installed, the likelihood of sulfur supplies within the rooting medium becoming insufficient increases." Discusses the lack of attention sulfur receives from researchers compared to other macronutrients. Includes information on the availability of sulfur, sulfur utilization within plants, effect of sulfur on stress tolerance of plants, and the role of sulfur in turfgrass growth.
