Abstract/Contents:Details the certification of The Habitat at Valkaria in Malabar into the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program. To qualify for the certification, the course must fulfill the requirements in six categories set by Audubon International: Environmental Planning, Outreach and Education, Wildlife and Habitat Management, Integrated Pest Management, Water Conservation and Water Quality Management. To prepare the course for certification, Bob Marshall, golf course superintendent of The Habitat for IGM, limited use of chemicals and created a safe environment for the engangered species of birds which reside on the course. The course also focused on protecting the wetlands during construction as well as including and enhancing native plants.
