Abstract/Contents: | Discusses methods of keeping lakes and ponds clean in landscaping and sports developments. One of the most difficult problems is surface algae, which cannot be controlled with mechanical methods. Microbial controls are recommended as the best control. Control of submerged aquatic weeds is also discussed. Both mechanical and chemical controls can be used. Also suggests shading the area, which slows the weed development. Emphasizes that all chemical products need to be examined closely before use. |
