Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the preference given to using green waste as mulching material by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). Green waste has been found to provide erosion control along with weed control, water conservation, and reducing wildfire intensity. Lists Rexius, Eugene, OR as a piece of equipment that can spread the mulch pneumatically. Also lists Safety Source's "Air Belt", Shred-Vac, and the AEM Spreader from the Finn Corp. Examples of green waste used for erosion include woody material and rice straw. |
