| Abstract/Contents: | "Control of drechslerra leaf spot/melting-out on Kentucky bluegrass, 1997: This evaluation was conducted at the Landscape Management Research Center, University Park, PA, on Kentucky bluegrass maintained under home lawn/golf course fairway management conditions. The soil was Hagerstown silt loam with a soil pH of 6.9. Urea (46-0-0) was applied to the experimental area at 1.0 lb nitrogen per 1000 sq ft on 18 Apr. Individual plots, 3 ft x 15 ft, were arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Fungicides were applied with a CO₂-powered boom sprayer, using TeeJet 8004 nozzles, at 40 psi, in water equivalent to 2 gal per 1000 sq ft, exept as noted in table. Applications were made on 2, 14, and 28 May, except as noted in the table. Treatments were visually evaluated on 30 May and 9 Jun. Data were subjected to analysis of variance and Duncan's New MRT, P=0.05. Data from 9 Jun are presented. The weather was abnormally cool and dry during the test period, and disease pressure was very light throughout the experimental area. Nearly all of the treatments in this trial provided adequate control of Drechslera leaf spot/melting-out under the conditions of this experiment." |
