Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the problem of poor drainage on golf courses. Digging a hole to help determine the problem is the first step in managing the soil drainage. There are four main reasons why greens become waterlogged; lack of deep intensive aeration, the use of ultra fine topdressing on the grounds, overwatering and overfeeding, and the use of motorized rollers. Also includes information about tile drains and other ways to improve drainage. |
