| Abstract/Contents: | Advises golf course superintendents to consider many factors before banning metal-spiked golf shoes on their courses. Discusses the quality of spikeless golf shoes, and the benefits of this type of spike. It is recommended that the superintendent pay close attention to such details as: climate issues, topography, maintenance standards and budget, cultivars used on the golf course, play frequency and traffic, how the turfgrass holds up to play, golf course design, and opinions of the players before making a decision. |
