| Abstract/Contents: | In laboratory experiments, 70 Poa pratensis seed lots were soaked either in distilled water or in a solution containing 0.2% KNO3 or 100, 200 or 250 ppm GA. Germination capacity was determined after 10, 22 and 28 days. The effects of GA on germination were erratic. In 31.4% of the seed lots GA stimulated germination, in 20% it had an inhibiting effect, in 15.7% a stimulating and an inhibiting effect and in 32.9% a neutral effect. The effects of KNO3 were similar. GA had no effect on the duration of dormancy. |
